Discover how much time I save by using a Vespa motor scooter to get to work
and managed to claim 10 extra holidays! All thanks to my Vespa Motor Scooter.
I’m based in Edinburgh/UK. The city has about 400.000 inhabitants and during the rush hour it gets very busy – it’s virtually impossible to get anywhere in the car or bus in a reasonable time.
Every morning I have to get from Morningside to the West End of Edinburgh. It takes me 10 minutes to walk to the next bus stop. Once the bus arrives it’s a gamble if I can still get on or if I have to wait for the next one. Even if I get on, it takes about 20 minutes to my stop. From here a 10-minute walk and I’m at work. It takes me at least 40 minutes to get to work on the bus!!!!
The walk to work takes me the same time. On my Vespa Motor Scooter it takes me not even 10 minutes to do the same journey. I’ve got free parking right outside my office (Motorcycle parking is free on marked spaces throughout the UK).
For those of you commuting within the London area: You will probably laugh at those timings and wish you could have it that easy. I tell you what: You can! Avoid the tube, buses or cabs. Make your way to the office on two wheels and discover the benefits.

It usually takes me 40 minutes each way to get to work. Per day, that
makes 80 minutes. On a daily basis I’m already saving 60(!!!) minutes.
1 hour per day
5 hours per week (based on 5 working days)
20 hours per month (based on 4 weeks)
235 hours per year (based on 52 weeks – 5 weeks holiday)
235 hours = 9.79 days -
That’s 10 days on top of your usual holidays!

This calculation shows how much time I save at least using my Vespa Motor Scooter, the total amount is probably even higher. I use the scooter for every trip within the city and it probably saves me double the amount of time, not “just” the 10 days.
Now that I have that extra time what do I do with it?
-Take time to cook a healthy meal
-Go to the gym (it takes me only 5 minutes on the Vespa to get there!)
-Spend quality time with my friends and family
-I'm even thinking about taking up a new hobby!
