What are the Motorcycle license requirements to ride a 125cc scooter on UK roads?
The motorcycle license requirements in the UK are fairly simple. It depends on the sort of bike you want to ride. You are not allowed to ride a motorcycle on public UK roads without any qualification.
Most scooters are small in engine size and you require a CBT certificate to ride anything up to 125cc. I had to do this before I was able to ride my Vespa LX125, which, as the name says, has 125cc. If you have passed your car drivers licence before 01.02.2001 and your scooter has a 50cc engine, you do not need any additional qualification – great.

To ride a “proper” motor bike you will need a full license (A1 or A2). I’m doing this at the moment, so I will be able to supply you with first hand information soon. This course is not a requirement for scooters, but if you want to ride bigger motor bikes.
